​                                                         Physical Conditioning Coach

Description:
The Physical Conditioning Coach is the active during the 11 weeks of indoor, winter conditioning the program participates in. It is this coaches responsibility to plan an 11 week program focused on maximizing players athletic ability and injury prevention. This coach should keep in mind a responsible and deliberate four year mind set for athletes to develop throughout school. The program should be detailed such that it can accommodate players of all skill and experience levels, based on their needs. Teaching proper technique and providing lesson planning with strategic progressing and regressing of lifts for the class as a whole are key responsibilities. This coach should expect to make use of the school weight room for the first hour, and then extra space/balconies/auxiliary weight room/track/hall ways for the second half. Strength, power, speed, and agility are the four pillars we have used in the past and communicating effectively to instruct players on various lifts, plyometrics, running mechanics, etc are important.

Responsibilities:
  • Coach and facilitate physical conditioning for the entire program, with the ability to delegate stations/lifts to other coaches as needed
  • Maintain a responsible, safe, and productive environment for athletes of all levels of experience to improve
  • Develop a lesson plan ahead of time 

Qualifications:
  • Must obtain a background check with CGHS (free)
  • Must be in good standing with CGHS, USAU, and CGUC while encouraging good sportsmanship
  • Must have experience coaching Ultimate, or other sports, and a level of understanding equal to or greater than the level of play for a nationally competitive youth Ultimate team

Hours/Dates:
  • Winter: Mondays and Wednesday from 3-5pm from November 27th to December 13th (3 weeks)
  • Winter: Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5pm from January 8th to February 28th (8 weeks)
  • 11 weeks total, 22 days scheduled, 44 hours of practice/training time

Compensation:
  • $500 stipend

Flexibility:
  • 2 Personal/Sick Days - Personal/Sick days should be communicated to A-team head coach 

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience playing at a competitive club or AUDL level
  • Experience teaching outside of sports
  • Physical training background
  • First aid training
  • Experience as an assistant or head coach at CGUC
