Leagues
Leagues in the Indianapolis area are typically hosted by the Indiana Ultimate Foundation (IUF), Indiana's state level affiliate of USA Ultimate. The three major leagues are listed below.
IUF - Winter Indoor League (school based teams)
The IUF hosts a High School Indoor League each winter with games beginning the first week of January.
- Regular season is 8 weeks
- 1 game per week
- Games consist of 2 halves (20 minute each with running clock and 5 minute halftime)
- North & South divisions play regular seasons concurrently
- South Division plays at The Gathering Place in Greenwood
- North Division plays at The Sports Zone in Indianapolis
- High School Indoor League concludes with teams from North & South divisions competing in an all-day tournament (Indoor State Championship) on President's Day at The Sports Zone.
IUF - Youth Club League (U20 boys, U20 mixed, U17 boys)
The IUF hosts youth club leagues and teams each summer. The league is made up of players from all high schools in and around the Indianapolis area and includes games, twice a week at World Sports Park for six weeks. The league is a draft league, meaning players enter as individuals and are placed on teams by coaches so that each team is evenly skilled.
Following the league, players have the option to continue playing by trying out for one of the IUF youth club teams in the U20 boys, U20 mixed, and U17 boys divisions. If a player makes any of the three teams, he/she will practice for an additional five weeks and travel to the Youth Club Championships (YCC) in Blaine, Minnesota to compete at the highest level against city and state based teams from all over the country.
Whether for fun, meeting other players, playing under different coaching styles, or to push his/her game to a higher level, all CGUC players are encouraged to gauge his/her interest in playing on a youth club team. For more information go to www.indianaultimatefoundation.com
