Tournament Site guide
CGUC will email you a tournament website address the week of each tournament . This website may include driving instructions to the tournament site, a tournament site map with playing fields, tournament pools, match schedules and locations. Visit the tournament website throughout the tournament for game scores and other key tournament information. To learn how to decipher the tournament website, check out an example of a tournament website guide below. Click on the box with the 4 arrows to view full screen.
Tournament sites will have a tournament tent for teams to sign-in, boards with tournament brackets and scores, a medical tent, and may have tournament stores to purchase apparel, discs and other items with the tournament logo. Credit cards are accepted at most. Cost of tournament jerseys may range from $40 - $65. The tournament store provides a limited number of items and sizes so purchase items early the first day of the tournament.
pre-game activities
Upon arriving to the designated playing field, unload your utility wagon and begin set-up of your area. Parents volunteering to set-up the Player or Team Tent, or to raise the team flag, please complete this set-up first.
The Food Tent is typically set-up on the sidelines near mid-field and will house food and drink for players. Beside the Food Tent is the Team Tent where players will keep their gear and rest between matches. Parent Tents are then set-up in a row beside the Food Tent. Parents who volunteered to bring items for the Food Tent should deliver them to the Food Tent upon arrival to the playing field.
Players, upon arriving to the designated playing field, are to be in uniform, change into their cleats and listen for Coach or Captain instructions. The team will conduct pre-game stretching and warm-up drills before each game. Prior to the start of the game, Captains of both teams will meet midfield and flip discs to determine who will receive the disc first (Odd meaning one frisbee landed on front of disc and the other on the back or Even meaning both frisbees landed on the same side of the disc) and which side of the field the pulling team will start from.
Near the conclusion of warm-ups before 1st match of each day, parents may form a prayer circle to pray over players’ safety, conduct, et al. Participation is voluntary.
A player(s) may be designated by the team to bring a speaker and provide a music play list. Music may not include profane, explicit or demeaning lyrics.

rosters
Getting to know players names is not a quick and easy task since last names are not on jerseys. To help, select an example of a Team Roster below.
in-game activities
Parents volunteering for activities such as maintaining the Food Tent and filling team water bottles should be ready prior to the start of each match.
Spectators are asked to exemplify the Spirit of The Game (SOTG) by following 4 simple rules:
1. Be positive, encouraging and supportive in your words and actions.
2. Acknowledge great efforts regardless of the player or team.
3. Leave officiating to the players. They know the rules or may ask coaches for clarification.
4. Enjoy the experience.

post-game activities
At the conclusion of the match, players from both teams will meet on the field and create a Spirit Circle. The circle alternates players from each team with players typically holding hands, putting arms around each others' shoulders or locking arms. Each team's Spirit Captain will name a player on the opposing team as the Spirit Award winner. This player best exemplifies the "Spirit of The Game (SOGT).
The Spirit Captain will also give the opposing team a Spirit Award score. These scores are submitted to a tournament official, tallied and a Spirit Award is presented to the team with the most spirit award points during the entire tournament. This award is equally as important as winning the tournament.
The team may be required to move to a different playing field. During the Spirit Circle, parents who volunteered to help set-up the Players’ and Team Tents, and raise the team flag, should help move these items to the new playing field sideline before moving their tents and personal items. Parents are to ensure all personal trash/debris has been collected and properly disposed. Typically there are trash receptacles located at each playing field.
At the conclusion of play for the day, those who volunteered to help set-up and move the Team and Food Tents will assist in disassembling the tents before disassembling their tents and loading their utility wagons.
At the conclusion of the last game of the tournament, the team will gather on the field for a team photo following the Spirit Circle.
