Tournament Site guide
CGUC will email you a Tournament packet, which includes the address and basic schedule. Once we receive additional details from the tournament director then we will share this information. This may include driving or parking instructions, a tournament site map, tournament pools, match schedules and locations.
Tournament sites will have a tournament tent for administrative staff and swag gear / discs. Credit cards or payment apps are generally accepted. There will also be a medical tent on site at each tournament.
pre-game activities
Upon arriving to the designated playing field, unload your utility wagon and begin set-up of your area. Parents volunteering to set-up the Team Tent and supplies, please complete this set-up first.
The Team Tent is typically set-up on the sidelines near mid-field and will house food, drinks, and supplies for players. Parent/fan tents are typically set-up near the Team Tent. |
Players are to be in uniform upon arriving to the designated playing field. They are to change into their cleats and listen for Coach or Captain instructions. The team will conduct pre-game stretching and warm-up drills before each game. Prior to the start of the game, Captains of both teams will meet midfield and flip discs to determine which team first receives the disc and on which side of the field the pulling team will start.

TEAM ROSTER
IN-game activities
Spectators are asked to exemplify the Spirit of The Game (SOTG) by following 4 simple rules:
1. Be positive, encouraging and supportive in your words and actions. 2. Acknowledge great efforts regardless of the player or team. 3. Leave officiating to the players. They know the rules or may ask coaches for clarification. 4. Enjoy the experience. For more details, check out the USAU's Spectator's Guide. |
post-game activities
At the conclusion of the match, players from both teams meet on the field and create a Spirit Circle. The circle alternates players from each team. Each team's Spirit Captain names a player on the opposing team as the Spirit Award winner. This player best exemplifies the "Spirit of The Game (SOGT).
The Spirit Captain also gives the opposing team a Spirit Award score. These scores are submitted to a tournament official, tallied and a Spirit Award is presented to the team with the most spirit award points during the entire tournament. This award is equally as important as winning the tournament. |
Before the next game, the team may be required to move to a different playing field. During the Spirit Circle, parents help move the Team tent and supplies to the new playing field sideline--before moving their own tents and personal items. Parents are to ensure all personal trash/debris has been collected and properly disposed. Typically there are trash receptacles located at each playing field.
At the conclusion of play for the day, parents assist in disassembling the tents and loading up team supplies. |
post-tournament activites
At the conclusion of the last game of the tournament, the team will gather on the field for a team photo.
Finally, everyone pitches in to help clean up, remove trash from the field area, and load club supplies into vehicles. |
