PACKING guide
The Center Grove Ultimate Club (CGUC) recommends parents bring the following to tournaments to make the tournament experience more enjoyable:
- CGUC team apparel, or team colors, to show your team spirit and support.
- Allergy medicine and tissues for those with allergies.
- Collapsible utility wagon to transport items to the playing fields and from/to the parking lot. You may have to walk long distances so a wagon is helpful to have.
- Bunge Cords to hold items below in wagon during transport to playing fields.
- Height adjustable tent w/side panels and weights to hold down legs of tent.
- Sports chairs.
- Cooler(s) for food and drinks; especially water to stay hydrated.
- Bug spray. Deep Woods Off work well.
- Extra pair(s) of socks each day of tournament. Games start early so morning dew is typically on the ground as you move to the playing field for the team’s 1st match or if conditions are rainy/muddy as you move from playing field to playing field.
- Weather-related gear based on the weekend weather forecast such as:
- Hat, Visor, Sunglasses, Sun Screen, Aloe (in case you forgot to use sunscreen).
- Golf Umbrella, Rain Coat/Poncho, Rain Boots.
- Winter Coats, Gloves, Hats, Earmuffs, Hand Warmers, Blankets, Thermal Socks. Boots.
- Disposable toilet seat covers, toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Most tournaments only provide portable restrooms.
- Trash bags to store player’s cleats, sweaty and/or muddy clothing in trunk during travel to hotel on Saturday and home on Sunday. Don’t forget to remove these items from your trunk when you get home or your Monday morning commute will not be pleasant.
- Laundry detergent, stain stick or spray, and quarters to wash player clothes at hotel laundry after Saturday games. Typically players wear light colored jersey one day of the tournament and dark colored jerseys the other day so washing jersey, shorts and socks may not be necessary.
- Covering to protect your vehicle's seats, floors and trunk area from wet or muddy clothes/shoes during travel to hotel on Saturday and home on Sunday.
- Newspaper to stuff inside player's cleats at the conclusion of play each day. Remember to remove the cleats from your vehicle when you arrive home from the tournament or your Monday morning commute will not be pleasant.
- Player and/or Team Tent items you volunteered to bring.
