A-Team Head Coach

The A-team Head Coach is the head coach of the entire program. During the months prior to teams being divided by skill, or gender, this coach is to manage CGUL, the club's Fall intramural league. During the spring, this coach will focus solely on A-team responsibilities.

The A-team Head Coach is the head coach of the entire program. During the months prior to teams being divided by skill, or gender, this coach is to manage CGUL, the club's Fall intramural league. During the spring, this coach will focus solely on A-team responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Coach and facilitate practices, training, and games for the entire program in the fall and winter
- Facilitate team roster selections for indoor (evenly skilled) and spring teams (by attitude, skill, commitment)
- Coach and supervise indoor league games at least once a week, and ensuring other days of the week are coordinated with A-team assistant coach
- Coach and facilitate all practices and events for A-team in the spring
- Attend all spring competitive events with the A-team for coaching
Qualifications:
- Must obtain a background check with CGHS (free)
- Must obtain a background check and coaching membership with USAU (paid for)
- Must obtain a level 1 and level 2 USAU Coaching Certification (paid for)
- Must pass the Heads Up Concussion Youth Sports Test (free)
- Must be in good standing with CGHS, USAU, and CGUC while encouraging good sportsmanship
- Must have experience coaching Ultimate, or other sports, and a level of understanding equal to or greater than the level of play for a nationally competitive youth Ultimate team
Hours/Dates:
- Fall: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3-5pm from September 5th to October 27th (8 weeks)
- Winter: Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5pm from November 27th to December 13th (3 weeks)
- Winter: Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5pm from January 8th to February 28th (8 weeks)
- Winter: Mondays 5-6pm, Tuesdays 4-6pm from January 1st to February 21st (8 weeks)
- Spring: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3-5pm from March 6th to June 8th (12 weeks)
- 32 weeks total, 106 days scheduled, 188 hours of practice/training time
- 7 weekends for tournaments, dates vary and are in addition to the times listed above
- $3,000 stipend
- One home jersey without number
- Lodging accommodations for travel tournaments
Flexibility:
- All practices and A-team tournaments are mandatory
- 6 Personal/Sick Days - Personal/Sick days should be delegated to assistant coach or canceled in a timely manner
Preferred Experience:
- Experience playing at a competitive club or AUDL level
- Experience teaching outside of sports
- Physical training background
- First aid training
- Experience as an assistant coach at CGUC
